Two hour Maastricht history tour with Chris. A very knowledgeable local with an approachable and engaging manner. We didn't go far, but she crammed us full of information. (Obviously not free because the business model is based on tips). Very enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

No. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. The route includes steps, uneven surfaces and cobblestones.

Where do we meet?

Meet at the Basilica of Our Lady on Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. Look for the guide with a white umbrella. Arrive 10 minutes early and check your confirmation for the precise meeting instructions.

Can children join?

Yes. Include everyone joining your group when booking. The walk lasts around 2 hours, so consider whether this suits your child.

How can a free tour have a booking fee?

The walk is tip-based: you decide what to tip your guide at the end. The separate €2 booking fee per person supports organisation and website costs, and does not go to your guide.

How long is the tour, and what language is it in?

The tour lasts around 2 hours and is in English. It is designed for international tourists. Dutch visitors are better served by a tour with the VVV Tourist Information Office or Maastricht Marketing, especially for a tour in Dutch.

When do tours depart?

How much should I tip?

You choose the amount based on your experience. Guests often use €10–€20 per person as a guide, but the choice is yours.
