This English-language walking tour is designed for international tourists visiting Maastricht. For Dutch visitors, we recommend booking a tour with the VVV Tourist Information Office or Maastricht Marketing, especially if you prefer a tour in Dutch.

No. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. The route includes steps, uneven surfaces and cobblestones. Please consider this before booking.

The tour lasts around 2 hours and covers a little over 3 kilometres. It combines walking with stops for stories and explanations.

Explore Maastricht’s historic centre, its squares, streets and landmarks. The exact route may vary with your guide and conditions on the day. This is an outdoor walking tour; a visit inside the St Pietersberg Caves is not included.

Children and dogs are welcome. Please include everyone joining your group when booking and keep your dog under control throughout the walk. The tour lasts about 2 hours, so consider whether this suits your child.

Choose an available date and departure in the booking calendar on our homepage, select Book, and register everyone joining your group. Complete the booking details and payment, then check your email for the confirmation.

The tour is tip-based, with a separate €2 booking fee per person to support the organisation and website. The booking fee does not go to your guide. At the end of the tour, you choose what to tip based on your experience.

Check the live booking calendar for available dates and times. Your confirmation shows the start time of your booked departure. All times are local Maastricht time.

You can book up to 6 people together on the public tour. This is the limit for your booking group, not the total number of guests on the tour. Larger groups and school classes should contact us about a private tour. Please do not split a larger group into separate bookings.

Public tours are intended for groups of up to 20 guests. The available places are shown during booking. Book ahead to secure your place; walk-ins depend on availability.

Use the cancellation link in your confirmation email. To change your departure, cancel the original booking and make a new booking for your preferred date. Check the Booking Fee & Cancellation Policy for the applicable refund conditions, or email us if you need help.

Check whether you received a confirmation before trying again. If you have no confirmation, try another payment method or contact us with your chosen date and time. Do not send card details by email.

Meet at the Basilica of Our Lady on Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. Look for the guide with a white umbrella, and check your confirmation for the precise meeting instructions. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure.

The tour may leave at the scheduled start time. We cannot guarantee that the guide can wait or that you can catch up after departure, so please arrive 10 minutes early.

Tours normally run in rain and with a small number of guests. Dress for the weather and check your email before departure: if a tour must be cancelled, we will notify booked guests.

There is no scheduled food or drink break. Wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather and bring water. Tell your guide if you need a toilet stop.
